HOTTEST JOBS FOR THE NEW FINANCIAL YEAR

The July to September Hays Quarterly Forecast has been released and it reveals the hottest jobs and boom markets for the start of the 2006/2007 financial year in a variety of market sectors.

“We see the employment market for the coming quarter staying strong,” said Jacky Carter, Director of Hays. “The levels of demand look as though they will continue and in July, due to year-end activities, the focus will most likely move to temporary requirements to assist with the extra responsibilities at this time of year.”

2006 hotspots are revealed in the Hays Quarterly Forecast. The candidates in strongest demand across all market sectors are as follows:

  • Accountancy & Finance: Financial and management accountants, experienced tax professionals and degree qualified accountants with two to five years experience. In accounting firms auditors, tax and business services candidates with their CA or CPA and strong professional experience are in demand.
  • Architecture: Graduate architects, registered architects, CAD technicians and landscape architects.
  • Banking: Wealth management, BDM’s, mortgage lending staff and candidates with income streams and self-managed superannuation experience.
  • Construction: Contract administrators, estimators and project managers.
  • Engineering: Civil and structural candidates with 15 to 20 years experience and engineers with 3 to 7 years experience.
  • Facilities Management: Candidates under $60,000, such as facilities supervisors of commercial properties.
  • Human Resources: In-house recruitment specialist, OH&S consultants and remuneration and benefits specialists.
  • Information Technology: .NET, Java J2EE and SAP skills and architects.
  • Legal: Corporate and banking lawyers for most disciplines.
  • Office Support: Receptionists and candidates to fill contract combination roles, such as administration and accounts with specific systems experience.
